CEO & Founder
The CEO and Founder Patricia D. McKinney, was born on September 29, 1965, in Hartford, Connecticut, to loving parents, May Helen Goff and Luther Douglas Golf. Tragically, her father died when she was just three years old, leading her to relocate to Norwalk, Connecticut, where she encountered numerous hardships.
By the age of seven, she faced the trauma of molestation by her uncle, and at thirteen, she ran away to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she suffered further abuse, including rape and physical violence. These traumatic experiences left lasting emotional scars and led Patricia to cope through substance abuse, including alcohol and marijuana.
At fifteen, she became pregnant and welcomed a baby girl nine months later. However, just a year later, Patricia spent seven days in jail, and eventually, her lifestyle resulted in her child being taken from her. By seventeen, she had experienced more adversity than many do in a lifetime, getting involved in a dangerous street life that led to heroin and crack cocaine use. This substance dependency escalated her involvement in crime and prostitution, and by the age of twenty, she found herself with a significant heroin addiction and frequent jail time.
In 1993, at the age of twenty-eight, everything began to change for Patricia. She committed her life to God, finding solace and strength in her faith.
By July 1995, she was released to the Mary Magdalene halfway house in Richwood, Connecticut. In April 1996, she made significant positive strides, securing a job and actively participating in her community in Bridgeport, Connecticut while maintaining her sobriety. On November 9, 1997, she married her soulmate, Kevin McKinney, and they later grew their family with two children. In 2001, both Patricia and Kevin renewed their spiritual commitments by rededicating their lives to the Lord and attending church.
In 2006, they took a leap of faith to establish their own ministry, founding Manifested Glory Ministries, now known as the Tabernacle of Jacob. That same year, Patricia became a licensed prison chaplain, conducting religious services at York Maximum Security Prison and Niantic Correctional Institution for eight years. In July 2008, she founded Women in Transition, later renamed the Patricia McKinney Foundation, driven by her mission to empower women from diverse backgrounds. In 2009, she also established the Black American Alliance Commission (BAAC) to educate minorities about civil rights, liberties and Constitutional Laws.
From 2014 to 2018, she operated an office in the Bronx, New York, focusing on counseling sessions. In 2021, she expanded her foundation and opened a center in Columbia, South Carolina, with a vision that transcends geographical boundaries. Today, Patricia's influence continues to grow across Georgia and the United States, where she serves as a spokeswoman, mentor, life coach, counselor, spiritual advisor, motivational speaker, licensed prison chaplain, and author. She also hosted her online talk show, The Queen McKinney Show, as well as several programs on mainstream news and talk shows, where she promotes a holistic lifestyle, inspiring others to realize their full potential.
In 2018, Patricia published her autobiography, "Escaping the Beast: My Story of Survival," which chronicles her journey of overcoming trauma, available on Amazon.com. Her second book, "Unpopular," released in 2022, offers guidance on navigating life’s complexities. She plans to release her third book, "30 Years and Counting," in fall 2026.
Patricia's life is a testament to resilience, demonstrating that change is possible through faith. With over thirty-two years of sobriety, she honors God daily for leading her from darkness into light.
